The room is spacious, all smooth surfaces and hidden lamps, making it seem even bigger.

There's a bar, a piano, and a huge bed with Egyptian cotton sheets.


Lucifer looks aroind with a grin.
"Oh look. A microcosm."

'I'm exceedingly difficult to satisfy.'

He's smiling, but y'know, not lying. Also, Lucifer is pretty when he stretches out like that. Jim admires him for a moment, then gets up to fetch cigarettes from his jeans pocket.

'But I think you might be able to, if we do this again.'

He's not saying they definitely will, but it's so hard to find someone willing to choke, and hurt. Someone willing who can do it properly, at least.

"Is it the lack of oxygen or the pain that works?"

Lucifer gets up as well to go check out the drinks cabinet.

He returns with a very expensive bottle of rum and two glasses.

No mixers because why ruin alcohol.

'Both. Ideally at the same time, but not always.'

He shrugs, lights up, and then offers one to Lucifer.

'I don't need either, but I do like them. I'm told I get bored of sex entirely before too much longer, so I might as well indulge while I'm still inclined.'

Lucifer takes the offered smoke and lights up as he settles down on the bed and pours drinks.

"Bored of sex? That sounds sad."

[just_cant_lose]

'It sounds inevitable.'

More so now he knows it actually happens. It's not like he wasn't half expecting it. But he doesn't look bothered; he just takes the drink, and sits cross-legged next to him.

'But it hasn't happened yet, so it doesn't matter. And it's bound to happen to you at some point.'

"I find that hard to believe," Lucifer says and blows a perfect smoke ring before drinking his rum.

All of it.

Jim shrugs.

'Not my problem either way. If you enjoy it forever, then you do.'

He sips his own rum. He's not much of a rum drinker, but this isn't bad.

Lucifer refills his glass, takes a sip, and then stretches out on the bed.

"Is it old you who's distributing spoilers?" he asks.

'No. That one came courtesy of my future husband.'

He drains his glass, and likewise refills it.

'His idea of foreplay. My future self doesn't tell me anything, but some things are obvious enough.'

"So you end up murdereously jealous and with no sex drive. That's a winning combo," Lucifer says and blows another smoke ring.

'Murderously jealous?'

Say what now?

'And there is no danger of no sex drive. It just, apparently, becomes mostly centred around him.'

There's a loaded pause.

'...I didn't tell you I had no sex drive, did I?'

Lucifer waves a hand lazily.

"Jealous enough to turn down a threesome because nobody is supposed to touch him and bored of sex respectively. Close enough."

He stretches. Slowly and thoroughly. Self-indulgently.

'Oh, possession.'

Whatever. He's not happy about it, but he's not surprised. It's not the same as jealousy, which would be far harder to understand. Jim watches Lucifer stretch and smokes his cigarette, less bothered about this than he thinks he probably should be.

'Well, he is pretty. And a good fuck. And it's literally years before that's going to become a thing, so it doesn't matter.'

"Ah, the carelessness of youth," Lucifer says wryly.

Jim snorts, openly derisive.

'If you think I'm careless, you really aren't good at understanding people. Or me, at least.'

He drains his glass and drops the butt of his smoke in the dregs, where it goes out with a hiss.

'Can I use your shower?'

"Can you share? Despite your best efforts, I'm still a little sticky."

'And you can't possibly wait until I'm done?'

He grins and stands up, looking down on him.

'Come on then. Behave, and I might let you soap me up.'

[wayward_sun]

"Patience is a virtue. I don't do those," Lucifer says and gets up, draining his glass and putting it down on the bedside table.

'Mostly it's good business.'

Jim has ultimate patience when it comes to work, and hardly any at all with personal stuff. He can't be bothered to explain that, though, so just heads to the bathroom and switches the water on while he examines what products the Devil uses.

The Devil has a well assorted shower with two types of body wash, a very nice shampoo, and a bottle of conditioner.

Good hair doesn't just spring into being, you know.

The tiles are black and shiny, everything else is glass or chrome.

Jim is frowning at the bottles, mainly because they are from the future and he doesn't know whether they're good or not, yet. Only one way to find out - he doesn't bother waiting for Lucifer, as he assumes he doesn't expect him to, and just gets in to start testing them out.

Nice bathroom, though. He approves.

The shower stall is spacious enough for two so Lucifer doesn't crowd him as he too steps under the spray and grabs a bottle of shower gel.

(It's a bit heavy on the pine scent perhaps, but it's pricy and foamy and he likes that.)

'I don't know what it is about old men and wood smells.'

Seriously. He is sniffing suspiciously at the shampoo.

'There seems to be a prevaling opinion it makes you seem more down to earth, or something. Maybe women like it more.'

"It's grounding. I buy it at my hot yoga studio."

Completely serious.

'Hot yoga?'

Jim looks more suspicious, but for different reasons.

'Is this yoga performed in a hot room, or are only hot people allowed in?'
